With a career spanning half a Century, yes he’s really been active for that long for those who’s musical tastes don’t go beyond that millennial ageOne of the marvels of Glastonbury is that there’s no age rating for the music, you can be any age to enjoy the artists. You can be 60 and enjoy Lizzo and Lewis Capaldi or be 13 and like Elton John Friday saw Arctic Monkeys, yesterday was Guns and Roses and today saw music legend Elton John close the festival. For Elton it’ll be an even more special gig as he officially announced that he will be taking an indefinite break from music. Like many I hope he’s just referring to performing.True to form he started his set with the glitz and glam before getting the show started.Now something that you clearly can’t deny is that Elton definitely knows how to pull off a spectacular show of truly incredible proportions.As the night went on he treated the crowd to an entire array of his hit songs such as Pinball Wizard, Bennie and the Jetts, Daniel, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Are You Ready for Love, Sad Songs (Say so Much), Your Song, Candle in the Wind (Norma Jean tribute version), I’m Still Standing, Cold Heart Towards the end he did a tribute to the late George Michael – Don’t Let The Sun go Down on Me. Apparently he’d have been 60 this year.True to form he had special guests to join him onstage; American artists Stephen Sanchez for Until I Found You and Killers frontman Brandon Flowers for Tiny Dancer and British/Japanese singer and friend Rina Sawayama to duet on Don’t Go Breaking My HeartWhether you are a fan of him and his music or not, for once it genuinely doesn’t matter. Armed with just a piano, his voice and backing band, he has the power to do anything onstage. For tonight all that actually mattered was a truly amazing gig, and that’s exactly what we got
