James Blunt on The Graham Norton Show

Just watching James Blunt perform his new single, Love You Better, which I admit is a bit edgy and raw compared to what he’s sang in the past. There’s some strong language at the start but it quickly mellows out after about 15 seconds. I admit I’m not a huge fan of Blunt but I do like this song, it’ll probably grow on me. As far as comebacks go that didn’t seem all too bad. The song is from his new album The Afterlove, also he admitted that he was aware of his ‘unpopular-ness’ over the past few years, especially on Twitter.

Tinie Tempah on The Graham Norton Show

Currently watching Tinie Tempah perform his single on Text From Your Ex The Graham Norton Show and he’s as charismatic, and energetic as ever and his song’s actually quite good. I could happily listen to it a few times over and not tire of it and Tinashe has a great stage presence and her locals go hand-in-hand with Tinie’s. Seriously, those two together are like milk and honey; are perfect combo

Rag’n’Bone Man on The Graham Norton Show

Listening to Rag’n’Bone man perform his sensational debut hit track Human on The Graham Norton Show on BBC1 right now, and I swear this song just gets better the more I listen to it. In a way he’s like a male version on Adele, he may be big in size but when he opens his mouth it’s a different story. This guy’s got a powerful, gospel voice which you simply can’t ignore. The song’s off the album of the exact same name.

Elbow on The Graham Norton Show

Currently watching Elbow play their new song Magnificent (She Says) on The Graham Norton Show on BBC1 at the moment, I’m actually enjoying it. It’s got a smooth start and Guy Harvey’s voice is great as always and always seem to hit the right notes, talented as always. Sounds a little bit like Sting. Guy’s got a good vocal range. The violins in the background add some edge to the sound. The song’s on their new album Little Fictions. after listening to this I’m tempted to get a copy.

Izzy Bizu on The Graham Norton Show

Just been watching Izzy Bizu perform her latest single Talking To You on The Graham Norton Show on BBC1 which was actually quite good. Izzy has got smooth soft vocals which can reach the high note and was just amazing listening pleasure and her voice just glides through the music. Her single Talking To You has got a nice soft, gospel feel to it, the song’s great, and so’s she. Izzy Bizu came to attention via the BBC Introducing

Ed Sheeran on The Graham Norton Show

Currently watching Ed Sheeran perform his new single ‘Castle On The Hill’ on The Graham Norton Show on BBC1 right now. What a single, what a comeback and You Need Me, I Don’t Need You seems so long ago now. Just Ed, his guitar and voice and that’s pretty much all you need, seriously, what more do you need. I like how the song switches from slow-pace in the verses to fast verses fast-pace on the chorus. Castle On The Hill is on his new album, Divide (the actual divide symbol). Also in a twist of revelation there’s a guy on the Red Chair called James who just so happens to have been his best mate a school. What are the chances of that!!

Gregory Porter on The Graham Norton Show

Currently watching American artist Gregory Porter sing his latest single Holding On, from his new album Take Me To The Alley, on The Graham Norton Show on BBC1 at the moment, and it’s actually quite good. A nice mixture of soul and jazz. It’s got a smoothing, soulful intro and Gregory’s just got the right voice for this type of song. He’s a bit similar to soul legend Stevie Wonder. As an artist he’s got that amazing soothing voice that just gets you. And yes he was wearing that ironic hat of his, how long’s he been wearing that for now?

Also they showed a small clip as a tribute to late Carrie Fisher from when she was last on.

Pete Tong on The Graham Norton Show

Watched the legendary Radio 1 DJ that is non other than Pete Tong himself play and amazing set on The Graham Norton Show on BBC1 earlier (just last year). A perfect mix of dance and classical and even had the singer Cookie (guest singer from The Shapeshifters) to perform the hit ‘Lola’s Theme’. Absolutely amazing and a perfect reminder of why the songs are great and why Pete Tong’s a LEGEND!!!

Katie Melua on The Graham Norton Show

Just watching Katie Melua perform her new single ‘The Little Swallow’ with The Gori Women’s Choir on BBC1 at the moment. Granted it starts off on a slow pace before Katie’s voice gradually seeps through, ironically it doesn’t so much as cut through and dominate the other voices but just goes alongside them. A very gospel performance and surprisingly short. The singe’s from her new album In Winter. Though she’s got a great voice can’t say I thought that much of it I’m afraid.

And everyone posed for a selfie, courtesy of Hollywood legend Will Smith at the end.

Jack Savoretti on The Graham Norton Show

Watching Jack Savoretti perform his latest single, ‘Only You’, before the audience on The Graham Norton Show on BBC1, and I’ve completely fallen under this guy’s musical spell. This guy’s got an amazing voice which sounds a little bit throaty but when you’ve got a voice like his who actually cares. Lyric-wise the song is incredible to say the least, completely soothing and packed with folk. This new song is from his latest album Sleep No More.
